The waters of this region are blue ribbon trout streams. Among them, the Upper Sacramento River passes in front of Wayne's place. Fishing is excellent 30 paces from the front gate! The Upper Sac is Wayne's favorite, and his specialty. The reknowned McCloud River is a short drive away, and Wayne knows it well. The rainbow trout of this region have been transplanted successfully throughout the world.

 Mount Shasta, one of the highest peaks in the United States and certainly among the most beautiful, is a constant and magnetic presence. The town of Mount Shasta is only ten miles away. The mountain itself is accessible for picnicing, hiking, or even climbing to the very top.

 The railroad passes through the center of Dunsmuir. The mournful call of the train whistle brings a smile to your face as you rest after a happy day of fishing. Dunsmuir is a railroad town, and this heritage adds color, intrigue, attractions and events.
